About Me
Born to two musicians and raised just outside of Washington D.C., I grew up toddling around the house to the sounds of jazz trumpet and scat singing. During the initial lockdown in 2020, my parents and I began arranging and recording the jazz standards we’ve always held so fond for our trio of piano, voice, and trumpet, and it quickly became one of my most formative memories. That early influence now comes through in the form of frequent eBay searches or vintage store visits to expand my Ella Fitzgerald record collection.
Shortly after graduating with my BFA in Musical Theatre from Otterbein University, I was diagnosed with a vocal injury and spent a few years in and out of voice therapy. Eventually, I needed surgery, and by the time I reached the end of the rehab process, I was so inspired by my experience in therapy that I decided to make the switch to pursue my M.S. in Communicative Sciences and Disorders to become a Speech Language Pathologist. I’m currently in my first year at NYU, and I look forward to helping voice patients exactly like myself from the other side of the therapy desk in a few years when I have a white coat of my own! While I’ll always love to perform, I can’t imagine a better way to spend my life than by helping others find confidence through the practice that restored mine.
